Alys Jordan subscribes to a transformational leadership style with an emphasis on empowering and mentoring students and colleagues. Furthermore, she believes in providing guidance to “influence followers' confidence in their capacity to carry out a wide range of proactive tasks, leaders must actively attempt to provide active mastery experiences through coaching and training to improve followers' skills and abilities” (Rafferty & Griffin, 1956). As a leader, she believes it is her responsibility to assist followers, colleagues, and her community to improve their information seeking skills to enhance their lives. She believes access to information is the key to unlocking success professionally and personally.

Alys received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Florida State University.  She has a Specialist Degree in Library Science and has earned two Masters Degrees in the disciplines of Information Studies and Religious Studies.  Presently, Alys is pursuing a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in organizational leadership at Nova Southeastern University (NSU).  Subsequent to her educational pursuits, Jordan has received an extensive array of professional development hours and certificates.
